Child Safeguarding: Basic Awareness for all staff

We offer face to face training in schools and other venues, as this seems to be more successful in encouraging interaction and discussion. However, we also offer the same training remotely, using Microsoft Teams or Zoom.

For all management, teaching and support staff - delivered in your school or service base. This course is also available, tailored to the working environment of other services and agencies. Please contact us to discuss your requirements. Please note, that for returning clients we have several versions of this course to ensure a new and engaging training experience for all staff.

Meeting the statutory expectation for all staff to receive Basic Awareness Training regularly (KCSIE 2021) with many schools maintaining the regime indicated in previous guidance as every 3 years. This course addresses issues facing all adults within your school or service, their responsibilities and actions to safeguard children.

The course can be delivered as:

a one day course (5 hours contact time) or as
a half day course (3 hours contact time)
....to any number of delegates in your school or service base.

It is recommended that the training should include all adults within your school or service, as the children decide in whom they will confide and with whom they will interact.
The objectives of the course:

• To raise awareness of what constitutes child abuse

• To ensure participants are aware of changes in the law underpinning child safeguarding work

• To ensure participants are familiar with child protection procedures

• To explore participant's understanding of their role and responsibilities in relation to child safeguarding
